We want everyone to be able to browse products, save a selection and reach us — whatever device or assistive technology they use.

Our commitment
We are working to make ny.kitchen usable by as many people as possible, and we treat accessibility as ongoing work rather than a box to tick. We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as our reference standard.
What we have done
- Colour and contrast. Body text, muted labels and gold text on light and dark surfaces have been adjusted to meet AA contrast ratios.
- Keyboard access. Navigation, the product menu, filters and forms are built from real links, buttons and native controls so they can be reached and operated by keyboard.
- Structure. Pages use headings, landmarks and breadcrumbs in a logical order so screen-reader users can navigate by structure.
- Images. Product and content images carry alternative text; decorative imagery is hidden from assistive technology.
- Meaningful symbols. Where we use a symbol to convey information — such as our price-level scale — the meaning is also exposed as text for screen readers.
- Touch targets and responsive layout. Interactive controls are sized for touch, and pages are built to work down to small phone widths without horizontal scrolling.
- Reduced motion. Animated elements respect the operating-system “reduce motion” setting.
Known limitations
We would rather name these than imply the site is perfect:
- Our contact form, booking calendar and chat widget are embedded from a third-party provider. We do not control their markup, so their accessibility is not fully in our hands. If one of them blocks you, contact us directly by phone or email and we will take your enquiry that way.
- Product imagery and specifications come from manufacturers. Alternative text is generated from the product name, which is descriptive but not always as rich as hand-written text.
- Some large product tables and filter combinations are dense, and we are continuing to improve how they are announced by screen readers.
